Got PTSD from Drinking and Restaurant Work and CBD Oil Helped
One day I was really nervous going into work. I was shaking from alcohol withdrawals, thus began PTSD at work and CBD Oil may help PTSD.
If you work in a stressful job, you probably can relate: It wears out your nerves. . .
And, add alcohol to the mix and you might have a real problem, like anxiety, anger issues, and even PTSD.
Restaurant work is notorious for breeding anxiety, drama, alcohol and drug issues.
You work sometimes 12 to 16 hours a day and the only way that seems to blow off some steam fast is to drink or drug after work.
I remember my very first job at 16 years old, washing dishes in a fast-paced seafood restaurant.
Me and another poor kid would have to wash dishes, then clean all the pots, pans and floors until 2 AM.
But, the one thing that kept me thoroughly entertained was watching the line cooks flirting with the waitresses or talking trash to them.
There were awesome rumors circulating around about how one of the cooks was sleeping with 3 waitresses at a time and doing lines of coke in the bathroom. For a 16 year old kid, this was exciting stuff!
16 years later, I became one of those line cooks, except for the cocaine.
I began getting drunk almost every night when I was 20 and worked my way up to getting drunk twice a day without eating food by the time I was 36.
I was flown out of a cow field to the state hospital for a heart-attack when I was 32, but I thought the attack was just a fluke and drank even harder afterwards.
Things got really bad when I started skipping meals. . .
In my twisted alcoholic mind, I believed that eating food would ruin my buzz, and food didn’t appeal to me anyways unless I was half drunk anyways.
One time, I took a trip to Vegas for the weekend and only remember eating two meals in three days.
That’s when things hit the fan, bad.
I had to go back to work.
I was still trembling from the night before, and I had no secret stash of beer in my car to calm my nerves.
I realized fast, upon chopping onions amongst the other cooks that if I spoke more than 3 words, my voice trembled really bad.
That’s when I stopped talking.
If I had to say something, it would have to be under 5 words, or the other cooks would hear my trembling voice.
So, once I knew I couldn’t eat and that I stuttered when I spoke from the withdrawals, going to work became a nightmare.
I stopped sleeping as well because my body vibrated with alcohol withdrawals.
The only thing that got me back to sleep was, you guessed it, more alcohol.
So, before work, I became so terrified, that PTSD started to form.
In fact, I couldn’t walk into the restaurant sober anymore.
If I didn’t have my secret stash of beer, I called in sick.
It became a real nightmare.

Luckily, I’ve been sober for almost 9 years.
But, the skeletons from my alcoholic past still lingered.
It wasn’t until I started working on my past and personal development that I began to unravel the skeletons.
The bottomline is you have to start the slow process of forgiving yourself and loving yourself like a gentle parent would.
